OUR PARTNERS

CSMA partners with other organizations to provide sports medicine support and services on sports-related mission trips around the world. Some of our selected partners include:

Picture
Fellowship of Christian Athletes – The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) mission is “to present to athletes and coaches, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.” They do this in many ways including summer sports camps and International sports mission trips. Christian Sports Medicine Alliance has partnered with FCA to provide sports medicine professionals for medical coverage of these events.

SCORE International – In 1985, Ron Bishop resigned as the basketball coach at Tennessee Temple University to start a sports missions ministry. Taking a basketball team to Mexico, this unusual ministry had a national impact. Since then, thousands of athletes have traveled with SCORE to 20 countries and have preached the Gospel to thousands of spectators at halftime. In addition, millions of others have heard the message through television and radio coverage.

SCORE has now expanded and is taking church youth groups, senior class trips, educators, choirs, medical teams and construction teams all in an effort to mass evangelize, expose people to missions and edify the local church. SCORE has established orphanages in Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. A medical facility in the Dominican Republic has been built and will serve local pastors and missionaries, as well as the poor who cannot afford medical care.

News Release Basketball – Since 1973, NRB has been traveling mainly throughout Europe to run basketball camps and to play against professional and club teams all while sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Based out of the United States, their mission is to develop deep relationships and to invite everyone, everywhere to participate in the adventure of following Jesus.

International Sports Federation – Established in 1993, ISF is a faith-based non-profit organization that seeks to change the world through sports. The universal attraction of sports encourages a connection among people. Through that connection, our volunteers are able to share their faith and reach out to people in other cultures.

ISF has developed an international and national network for sports missions with more than 750 missionaries around the world. We work with Christian individuals and organizations to fulfill God’s call to take the Gospel to all the nations.

Kosovo Baseball Initiative – Founded in 2013, KBI is a group of missionaries serving God who have been presented with the opportunity to develop baseball camps to young people in Kosovo. KSI has partnered with the Kosovo Olympic Committee and Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport to form a Baseball Federation, which is led and operated by Kosovars with the long-term vision is to build a baseball athletic complex, which will provide field space, training facilities, dorms, a conference center, and offices for the baseball federation, along with functioning as a multi-sport facility that can be used this complex for a range of activities such as Olympic team training, national and regional tournaments, after school tutoring, job training, a conference center for other groups and a base for outreach and humanitarian help for the outlying areas.

The Iguana Squad – During a personal visit to Belize in 2000, founder Rik Sowell discovered a great need for educational facilities. Many children were waiting to attend school, but facilities were either inadequate or did not exist.  In 2001, Rik began the planning process to return to Belize with a construction team to assist one school in the village of Benque Viejo located on the western border. That was just the beginning. The Iguana Squad has returned to Belize every year, assisting schools in several areas of the country, constructing classrooms and other support facilities. In 2006, medical teams were added to the effort. CSMA is currently partnering with The Iguana Squad to develop and convert a space made available by the Football Federation of Belize to make available a vast array of sports medicine services that otherwise do not exist at this time with the ultimate goal of opening such a facility in the summer of 2019.
